5 Things You May Not Know About Serviced Apartments
20th March 2018

With the recent news that the serviced apartment sector is set to add 2,000 new units in 2018, there’ll be plenty of people staying in corporate accommodation this year. If you’re one of them, here’s a few things you may not know about serviced apartments.

Reducing rates

Rates

With hotel rooms, you pay the same rate per night whether you book for one night or ninety nights. With serviced apartments, the longer your stay the less you’ll have to pay per night. This is down to two factors. Firstly, operators value longer stays as they provide an assurance of occupancy for extended periods and, therefore, they offer attractive rates to encourage longer stays. Secondly, reduced rates are stimulated by the fact that VAT reduces from 20% to just 4% when stays surpass 28 days in length.

They’re not as expensive as you’d think

Things you didnt know3

Regardless of whether you can take advantage of a reduction in rate, serviced apartments are not as expensive as you may think. In central London it can be difficult to find an adequate hotel room for £100 a night but there are plenty of serviced apartment options which provide more room and better facilities at a similar price point.

You can find them pretty much anywhere

If you’re relocating to a new city, the likelihood is that you’ll be bringing your family with you and, for many people, that includes the family pet(s). It’s comforting for pet owners to know that there are many serviced apartment operators that allow your fluffy friend to stay too, but, be prepared to pay a small charge for the extra cleaning required at the end of your stay.

Home comforts
