Visiting many of our accommodation options means we get a first-hand understanding of the quality of the space, as well as local knowledge of the city or town. If you’re ever in need of a personal recommendation for where to take colleagues for dinner, or how to navigate the city’s public transport, just give us a call any time for advice.

What is a serviced apartment?

Serviced apartments are the undeniable top choice for business travellers; providing the privacy, flexibility, style and comfort often not associated with hotels in the area. Like for like, serviced accommodation is more affordable than hotel rooms, not to mention the tax discount received on extended stays, meaning if you’re relocating to Milan and awaiting permanent residence, a serviced apartment is the only option. Additional benefits of serviced accommodation include:

Space. When travelling for business, it is likely that your living space will become your working, hosting and exercising space, too, which is why a hotel room simply won’t cut it. Choose serviced accommodation and enjoy an entire apartment to yourself; with separate living, kitchen, dining and sleeping areas and regular housekeeping to keep things tidy.

On-site amenities. Many apartment buildings and apart-hotels feature an impressive range of on-site amenities for guests to enjoy; from gyms and swimming pools, to spa treatments and dry cleaning services. Business trips can be busy, so it is important to relax and unwind – let our booking team know what on-site amenities would improve your stay and we will always select options that suit you best.

What do I need to know about staying in Milan?

Outside of your busy schedule of corporate commitments, your Milan serviced apartment provides a great base from which to explore the highlights of the city.

Cuisine

Milan holds the title for the most Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy and, like the rest of the country, food is an important part of Milanese culture. Unlike traditional Italian cuisine, dishes in Milan are less tomato based and more hearty; think stew, meat and rice. Often compared to German cuisine, Ossobuco perfectly encompasses all common components: slow simmered veal shanks in a red wine broth, served on a bed of polenta or risotto.

Art

Boasting an extensive collection of masterpieces, Milan is renowned for its rich artistic heritage. Pinacoteca di Brera holds an impressive portfolio of works with an overarching religious theme, many of which were once looted from churches, with free admission on the first Sunday of every month. One of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous pieces is also hidden away in a Milanese convent. The Last Supper depicts an iconic religious scene and is such a popular attraction that a maximum of 30 visitors are permitted to enter every 15 minutes.

Architecture

A treasure trove of architectural wonders, the streets of Milan are full of buildings that mirror the intricate design and beauty of many of the designs in Milan’s most famous fashion houses. It goes without saying that a trip to Duomo di Milano is a must when visiting the city: a white marble façade and thousands of spires and statues make up this dramatic cathedral that is certainly a sight to behold.

Layout

Milan has an unusual concentric layout with every street leading to the Duomo. The streets were built around Milan’s ancient interconnected canal system, Navigli, and, although most have now been covered, you can still cruise part of the Navigli canals today.
