Kensington Palace and Gardens

The regal residence of the British Royal Family, Kensington Palace is a major tourist hotspot overlooking Kensington Gardens. For a small entrance fee, visitors can discover over 300 years of royal history in a number of complementary exhibits ranging from the Georgians to the life and times of Princess Diana.

In 1689, King William III bought Nottingham House – the regal mansion that is now known as Kensington Palace – and modern Kensington was born. The manor was originally just purchased as a country retreat, away from the smog of central London, but it quickly became a home for reigning monarchs and the Royal family.
