Transport in Florence

Florence is served by Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola which is located in northwest Florence, 4km from the city. The tram is the quickest and most efficient method of transport from the airport to Florence, with a single journey to Santa Maria Novella station costing €1.50 each way and taking 15 minutes. When travelling in Florence, the easiest method is by foot with the city being relatively compact. Buses and taxis are also a viable option for travel from the airport and travel around Florence.

Weather in Florence

Florence has a humid subtropical climate with the city experiencing gloriously hot summers and cool winters. With Florence being inland, the city encounters much hotter temperatures than Italian coastal cities. In winter, the temperatures drops in Florence with the city prone to having cool, wet weather. Spring and autumn are transitional seasons in Tuscany, with mild weather combining with rain showers.
