All you need to know about Mildura

Mildura is a city in Australia’s Victoria state with a population of more than 60,000 people. It lies halfway between Melborne and Adelaide, and is famous for its grape production. It’s a generally low-rise city with a semi-arid climate that ranges from 15°C to 32°C throughout the year.

Mildura has traditionally been home to writers, authors and creative people, and plays hosts to number of annual festivals including the Mildura International Balloon Fiesta and Mildura Country Music Festival.

Mildura’s central business district is situated close to the banks of Marney, and boasts a wide variety of shops, restaurants and supermarket chains, including the Mildura Central Shopping Centre.

Getting about in Mildura is fairly straightforward. The city has a number of local bus services including Greyhound Australia, which connect Mildura to other parts of Victoria and New South Wales. Visitors can also use the Mildura railway line which covers a total of nine train stations.

Mildura Airport is one of the busiest airports in Mildura and sees a daily influx of passengers via QantasLink, Regional Express Airlines and Virgin Australia.

Popular points of interest include Fossey’s Ginporium and Distillery, and the Mildura Arts Centre.
