Transport in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro Galeão Airport is the largest airport in the city and the point of arrival for international visitors. The city is also served by Santos Dumont Airportwhich mostly accommodates domestic arrivals. From GIG Airport, taking a licensed airport taxi is the quickest and most efficient method of transport to the city. Alternatively, taking the BRT bus to Vincente de Carvalho metro station and changing onto the L2 metro line will bring you into Central station. Here you can change onto L1 metro line, which terminates at General Osorio. Most serviced apartments are located within walking distance. The metro is the most effective method of transport in Rio de Janeiro, with metro lines running from the business district along the coast to Leblon, passing through Ipanema and Copacabana. Buses and taxis also provide transport methods for business travellers visiting Rio de Janeiro.
