All you need to know about Oakville

Oakville is located in Halton Region on Lake Ontario in southern Ontario and is part of the Greater Toronto area. Oakville is home to many community events including the Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival, the Waterfront Festival, Midnight Madness, and many more.

Oakville is also known for its supporting efforts and is home to the Oakville Blue Devils of Canadian Soccer League and the Toronto Rock lacrosse team. The main shopping centre is in the centre of the town on the popular Leighland Avenue, The Oakville Place Shopping Centre is home to famous department stores including Sears and The Bay.

There is both a commuter rail and intercity trains operating within the city, the Via Rail (intercity service) is along the Windsor and Quebec corridor and can be caught from Oakville train station. Regular buses are provided by the Oakville Transit service and connect the city to Mississauga. Lester B. Pearson International Airport is the nearest airport, just a 20-minute drive northeast from the city centre.
