All you need to know about Quebec City

Quebec City is the capital city of the province Quebec in east Canada. The climate across the city can be quite dramatic in the winter months with temperatures dropping to around -10 most days. However, the city has embraced the arctic climate by becoming a hub for winter sports. The vast array of sports, including skiing, snowmobiling and dogsledding attracts visitors from all over the world. Quebec City landscape is one of the most beautiful in the world and the city enjoys many natural wonders, as confirmed by its UNESCO world heritage site status, including the Montmorency Falls Park and the Plains of Abraham.

Traditional restaurants in the city often follow Quebec‘s French roots which provide the city with its own traditional cuisine very similar to that in France. The Old Town holds many of the heritage sites in the city and a great deal of European charm. Rue Saint-Jean in Old Quebec is the most popular area for eateries and shopping. Château Frontenac hotel, which dominates the city’s skyline, is renowned for its architecture and draws visitors from around the world. The largest shopping centre in the city is Fleur de Lys centre commercial, holding over 200 stores.

Gare Du Palais is the main train station for the city; the Corridor train service operates here from Montreal to Quebec City five times a day. The Orléans Express also runs coaches from Gare Du Palais and throughout all of Quebec. Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport is a 15 minute drive outside of the city centre and provides flights to destinations across North America.
