All you need to know about Gothenburg

Gothenburg is Sweden’s second largest city, and spoils its visitors with all range of attractions and natural delights. It has a population of more than 580,000, and is home to several top universities. Originally Göteborg, it’s located on Sweden’s West Coast and between the cities Copenhagen and Oslo.  

An important trade and shipping centre, Gothenburg boasts the largest harbour in Scandinavia. Its other key sectors are manufacturing, banking, tourism, finance. Famous companies with operations in Gothenburg include Ericsson, Volvo and SKF.

The city has an extensive tram network, and operates a number of public trains and buses, with Gothenburg Central Station being one of its key transportation hubs. Göteborg Landvetter is its main airport, and is located just 12 miles from the city centre. It operates both international and domestic flights, and is served by Norwegian Air Shuttle and Ryanair, amongst other airlines.

Its points of interest range from beautiful green spaces like Slottsskogen and Delsjon, to speciality museums such as Aeroseum, Martiman and Roda Sten Konsthall. It also plays host to a number of great events throughout the year including the Gothenburg Film Festival.
