Richmond is a market town in North Yorkshire and often described as the gateway to the scenic Yorkshire Dales. Richmond is in the north of England and was founded by the Normans in 1071. It is in fact the ‘original’ Richmond, there are now 56 other Richmond's around the world named after it!
