All you need to know about Santa Monica

Santa Monica is a coastal city bordered by Los Angeles; the city is popular with tourists because of some of the famous attractions such as Santa Monica Pier and the Hippodrome. The proximity to Los Angeles means the area is popular with celebrities; Beverley Hills and Hollywood are both under a 30 minute drive away. Although Santa Monica is a coastal city, there are a number of thriving businesses, transport links and events similar to a busy metropolis.

Districts in Santa Monica vary from more residential areas to busier tourist and business sites. Montana Avenue is home to upmarket stores and coffee shops as well as a theatre. Downtown Santa Monica is predominantly where tourist destinations are placed and is the home of Third Street Promenade; the hub of business in Santa Monica. Up-scale dining and shopping is also available around here.

Los Angeles International Airport, one of the busiest airports in America, serves as the cities closest airport and is a 20 minute drive from Santa Monica. The Big Blue Bus and Metro is the predominant means of public transport and complements one another to operate a comprehensive service through West Los Angeles and the city.
