It’s bordered by the following places: Somerville, Arlington, Watertown, and Boston. The main language spoken in Cambridge is English and the predominant currency used is the US Dollar. As the fifth most densely populated city in the state, Cambridge remains popular with business travellers and offers a generous selection of serviced apartments and corporate housing.

Cambridge was founded in 1630, and was officially incorporated in 1636. The area then went on to become a city in 1646. In the very beginning, Cambridge was regarded as a good strategic base, given its location on the Boston Harbour, and served to protect against invasions from enemy forces. Cambridge originally went by the name Newe Towne, and was one of several towns founded by the prominent colonialists of the day. These founders established not only accommodation in the area, but also local businesses.

In 1638, Newe Town’s name was changed to Cambridge, and, with that, the settlement began to grow in stature. At this stage, Cambridge was a predominantly agricultural village made up of farms and estates. Many of its settlers were Puritan colonialists who made their livings from investments and trade. These early business travel professionals set the pace for future developments in Cambridge including the emergence of corporate housing.
