At the beginning of 2023, our Founder & Chairman, Marcus Angell, decreed “connections” the theme of the year for SilverDoor. It’s safe to say that 2023 has very much lived up to this and we’ve had another fabulous year connecting with colleagues, clients and property partners.

| Thought leadership and championing our industry
SilverDoor experts hosted FEM Roundtable discussions on The Journey to Sustainable Travel and Mobility in EMEA, APAC and the Americas.
We hosted our fourth-annual Partner Engagement Day event, welcoming 170 industry figures for interactive panel discussions and learning sessions.
SilverDoor colleagues featured on various webinars and panels on topics ranging from Pauline speaking recently with Graebel on sustainability to Martin speaking with Serviced Apartment News on the future of business travel.
We released four quarterly Market Updates on the trends and topics influencing our sector.
| Investing in our people
15 SilverDoor employees were trained as Mental Health First Aid Champions and 28 senior managers were trained in mental health awareness.
We increased our office space for growing teams in Singapore, Denver, Hyderabad and Madrid, and expanded our global reach with new roles in Dubai and New York.
We welcomed our sixteenth consecutive SilverDoor Academy cohort.
Ten SilverDoorians flew out to join their global colleagues in our international secondment scheme.
| Investing in our technology
We launched the SilverDoor Carbon Calculator – the first tool of its kind to measure the carbon emissions of serviced apartments.
All three of our ISO audits were successful and passed with flying colours, so our 27001, 9001 and 14001 certificates have been renewed for another 12 months.
We grew our live availability and e-Distribution connectivity to expand the inventory available to book instantly and developed our digital quoting functionality to further streamline the booking experience.
| Nurturing our partnerships
We hosted six property partner events in London, Madrid, Zurich, Manchester, Denver and Singapore, welcoming more than 500 of our valued property partners for connecting and networking across the world. We also hosted our annual EMEA SilverDoor Party at M Threadneedle Street, where 400 partners joined us for a celebration and the closely contested Partner Awards.
SilverDoor colleagues were grateful to join property partners on 40 partner engagement evenings throughout the year, and our Partner Relationships team visited hundreds of properties across the globe. Cecilia travelled as far as Perth, Australia and Shanghai and Chengdu, China; Kurtis jetted off to Mumbai and Pune, India and Abu Dhabi and Dubai, UAE; Fernando headed to New York and San Francisco; Chris braved the snow in Stockholm and Copenhagen; and Georgia visited most of the big cities across England and Scotland.
