Environmental Pledge

This statement, which applies to SilverDoor Limited globally, sets out SilverDoor’s environmental strategy and how we seek to responsibly deliver against it.

SilverDoor Limited supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement. Our journey is aligned with these international principles and is focused on tangible, measurable and achievable changes across both our own operations, and those of our business partners.

We recognise our responsibility to help protect the planet. We are committed to minimising the impact our company has on the environment and will support those who are working to improve global environmental sustainability.

As the largest booker of corporate extended stay apartments in the world, we have the profile, resources, and buying power to make a difference by leading by example.

Our environmental strategy seeks to address greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions and waste across our entire value chain as we strive to continually strengthen our environmental practices and will allocate and commit sufficient resources to do so. We will comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.

Our journey

  • Calculate our global scope 1&2 baseline emissions data, including business travel
  • Set Science Based Targets with this data
  • Annually report our global emissions data to measure our progress against our reduction targets that are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels

The journey to become more sustainable is not simple or straightforward for any organisation. Our long-term vision is to maintain our position as the world's leading serviced apartment agent. We strive to provide serviced accommodation that meets our clients' specific requirements. We achieve this by continuously sourcing and providing quality serviced apartments in key business locations throughout the world. The sustainability of the apartments we offer is no different. Our approach is designed to drive engagement with our property partner network to promote a more sustainable future.

To that end, we are exploring the most efficient way to report on indirect (scope 3) emissions and demonstrate reductions on absolute emissions across our supply chain of 3000+ global property partners. Crucially though, we want to give our clients the information and ability to make more informed travel choices.
