Hanover is a city in Germany that overlooks the River Leine.
It is capital of the German state, lower Saxony, and was previously home to the
Hanover Kings of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
It has a population of over 518,000, making it one of
Germany’s largest cities. Regarded as a commercial hub, Hanover plays host to
various industrial businesses such as Continental AG and Volkswagen Communal
Vehicles Transporter. In amongst them are the insurance companies VHV Group and
Talanx.
Hanover offers many sites worth seeing from the Old Town
Hall to the Waterloo Column. For great views, head to either the river Leine or
the New Town Hall observation deck.
Hanover offers various transport options. You can travel by
train, using Germany’s ICE network, catch a bus, tram or even commute by boat.
The city is served by Hanover Airport which lies 11 miles from the city centre.
