Long Beach is a city located on the west coast of America. It's home to more than 460,000 people and its population has continued to grow over the years. Long Beach’s close proximity to Los Angeles makes it ideal for business travellers in the area and is increasing in popularity as a commuter area. Home to gorgeous beaches, excellent transport links, and international businesses Long Beach has become the perfect business travel hotspot, with many corporate housing areas being developed. SilverDoor Apartments can help accommodate business travellers to the area with a great range of serviced apartments and corporate housing.

The Long Beach area was originally established in 1784 when the land was sold to soldier Manuel Nieto. From 1784 -1902 the area slowly developed and residents began to permanently reside there. Once the port of Long Beach was established, the rapid growth of the city and the business of trading began. Whilst the port was beginning to thrive the discovery of oil on Signal Hill meant a huge boom in the economy.  The discovery meant community projects, housing development sites, and amenities were constructed rapidly throughout the city. However, this came to a head in 1933 when the city was destroyed by a major earthquake. Downtown Long Beach was rebuilt in in an iconic Art Deco style that can still seen today. In 1975 the Long Beach area began a journey on a 25-year multi-billion dollar redevelopment program. Since then the city has grown even more so with the creation and opening of The Greater Los Angeles World Trade Centre, Shoreline Marina, and Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Centre.

Once Long Beach was a city booming from the extraction of oil. Nowadays, Long Beach is a hub of international headquarters and local firms. The headquarters of the Japanese company Seiko Epson is located in the city, along with Pioneer Electronics, and medical institutes. Long Beach is currently seeing a period of low unemployment, great business development programs implemented by the government, and an influx of new companies wanting to join in the prosperity. For those travelling to the city, corporate housing situates guests close to the main central business district, and international business headquarters.
