All you need to know about Helsinki

Helsinki is the capital and largest city in Finland and the country's major political, educational and financial centre.

Because it's Finland's capital, there is plenty to do in and around Helsinki. Kauppatori Market Square offers everything from food and sweets to furs. Visitors should also visit Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral.

The city is officially bilingual, with an 86% Finnish-speaking majority and a 6% Swedish-speaking minority. However, English is somewhat more widely spoken than Swedish.

All international and domestic flights land at Helsinki - Vantaa International Airport which is located 20 kilometres north of the centre of Helsinki. The majority of the serviced apartments Helsinki has to offer are near transport links of some kind.
