Makati is a major financial hub in the Philippines, with a
vast concentration of local and multinational corporations. It’s one of sixteen
cities that form the Metro Manila, and is home to foreign embassies, major
corporations and banks.
It has a population of over 580,000, and is one of the most
densely populated cities in the world. To the north of Makati lies the Pasig
River, and, to the southeast, you’ll find the regions Pateros and Taguig.
Makati’s popular attractions range from beautiful parks to
wonderful museums and galleries. It has big shopping centres like the Power
Plant Mall, and a great landmark in the form of the Greenbelt Chapel. Other
things worth seeing include Ayala Center and the Mind Museum.
There are various major roads which run through Makati and
connect it to other parts of the Metro Manila. The city is covered by both Philippine
National Railways and the Metro Rail Transit. Its main airport, Ninoy Aquino
International, lies 20 minutes from the city centre.
Makati is home to various high-quality SilverDoor serviced
apartments that are perfect for business travel.
