Sandy is a city situated in Salt Lake County, Utah. As the sixth largest city in the state of Utah, with a population of over 96,000, Sandy remains a key business travel hub for corporate housing and serviced apartments. Prior to the 1860s, Sandy was a farming community with a limited population. Those who settled in the area took ownership of mining in the local canyons. The largest sectors in Sandy are retail trade, healthcare and social assistance, as well as professional, scientific and tech services. The highest paying industries, meanwhile, are mining, quarrying, oil and gas extraction. Such industries make Sandy highly desirable from a business travel standpoint and this has, in turn, increased the number of corporate housing in the area. The city has a median household income of more roughly $80,000.
