In the last 50 years or so, Dubai has undergone a rapid transformation, from a little known port in the desert, to one of the most developed cities in the world, with a total of 911 high rise buildings, 88 of which are taller than 180 metres, including the world’s tallest, the Burj Khalifa.
It’s been a remarkable transformation, so we’ve taken a step by step look at how this humble fishing town became the modern day “City of Gold.”
